In 2010 Bau-Consult Hermsdorf was chosen for the general design of the upmarket 4-star Spa & Golf Hotel Weimarer Land. Work on the concept, renovation and reorganisation of the estate lasted 3 years.

The hotel is in Blankenhain, on the largest golf course in Thuringia immersed in a landscape that has charmed and inspired poets, composers and artists for centuries. The 36-hole course covering 160 hectares of land superbly incorporated into the natural landscape offers first-class practice and playing facilities. The Weimarer Land complex has large, smartly-furnished country rooms, 94 comfortable double rooms and suites, various themed restaurants, a terrace with a breathtaking view over the golf course, a wood, and a splendid outdoor swimming pool.

The relaxed luxurious feel is a recurring theme through the timber-framed buildings of the ex-manor house, matching the history and traditions of the region with the new function and life of the complex. The typical timber-framed façades and brickwork were fully restored, as were the beamed ceilings, whereas light-coloured Geopietra stone, which are square in shape but with no sharp edges, covers most of the base walls on the large buildings. The chalky eroded surface of the stone emphasises the authenticity and energy of this country house in Thuringia, creating an idyllic atmosphere for a holiday full of fun and relaxation.

The holistic approach to the entire project is illustrated by the large Lindentherme SPA area, where the sweet and beneficial perfume of linden blossom fills the air. These small potent flowers have been known for their properties for millennia, and are wonderful for the skin and physical and mental wellbeing.
